Colin P. Clarke, Senior Research Fellow, spoke in a virtual panel on “Protests, Participation, Fake News: What’s Going on?” alongside fellow panelists Graham Brookie, Director of the Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab (DFRLab), and Peter Bergen, Vice President for Global Studies and Fellows at New America. Taking place on July 15, 2020, the virtual event was hosted by the Centre of Excellence for National Security at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies in Singapore. He discussed the significant overlaps between various extremist ideologies like the far-right and white supremacism, complicated by the role of disinformation, which make contemporary developments more challenging to comprehend.
