On April 14, 2021, Executive Director Naureen Chowdhury Fink moderated RUSI’s Gender in Conflict and Security Webinar Series event on ”Countering Violent Extremism: Making Gender Matter.” In the event, Dr. Elizabeth Pearson, Emily Winterbotham, and Dr. Katherine Brown discussed their new book, Countering Violent Extremism: Making Gender Matter. Through the discussion, Naureen noted the multiplicity and complexity of roles women play in the realm of violent extremism: “It’s always been roles with an ‘s’.”
