Senior Research Fellow Colin P. Clarke moderated a panel discussion titled “Map the Manifesto” on September 28 at the 2023 Eradicate Hate Global Summit in Pittsburgh, PA. The speakers, Michael Waltman and Brad Galloway, discussed the role of manifestos in recent hate-fueled violence, examining patterns for prevention, and the role of heuristics in hate speech. The Eradicate Hate Global Summit grew out of the deadliest anti-Semitic attack in U.S. history. On October 27, 2018, a violent attack took place in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh, killing 11 worshippers at the Tree of Life Synagogue.
