On October 1, 2025, TSC Senior Research Fellow Wassim Nasr delivered testimony before the French Senate’s Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces Committee. The topic of the discussion was the future of Syria following the fall of Bashar al-Assad and the new governance of Ahmed al-Sharaa. “The greatest challenge for Syria today lies in social peace within the majority community, which is Sunni. Once this peace is secured and this reconciliation achieved, everything else will follow,” Mr. Nasr told the Committee.
