On June 1, 2026, during the 44th session of the Working Group on discrimination against women and girls at the United Nations headquarters, Research Associates Gabriella Tejeda and Nikkie Lyubarsky spoke at the event ‘Three Years of Violence in Sudan: Women and Girls on the Frontline of the Conflict.’ Hosted by Global Human Rights Defence, the panel discussion examined how to address conflict-related sexual violence, including the collection and preservation of evidence in support of accountability mechanisms. TSC’s team spoke on the role of external actors in the war in Sudan, building on a TSC report published earlier in the year: ‘The War in Sudan: The Role of External Actors and the Prospects for U.S.-Led Conflict Resolution.’
