The Soufan Center Webinar: “A Perfect Storm: Insurrection, Incitement and the Violent Far-Right Movement”
The Soufan Center, in partnership with the Airey Neave Trust, hosted a webinar to mark the launch of the new report, “A Perfect Storm: Insurrection, Incitement and the Violent Far-Right Movement,” which focuses on the dynamics of extreme right-wing violence and terrorism in the United States and the United Kingdom. The report examines the violent far-right movement in both countries and considers if and/or how the insurrection of January 6, 2021 made an impact. While these groups are often considered as domestic security challenges, the Soufan Center report highlights the transnational dimensions of their relationships and the implications of stronger ideological, financial and operational cooperation among groups on both sides of the Atlantic. Finally, the report examines the domestic and international measures taken to address these groups and identifies ten action-oriented policy recommendations. This webinar featured the three report authors, Colin Clarke, Naureen Chowdhury Fink and Mollie Saltskog, with Vidhya Ramalingam, Co-Founder and CEO of Moonshot, and Hugh Tilney and Tim Wilson, on behalf of the Airey Neave Trust.
