Caitlin O’Hara


Caitlin O’Hara is the Project Coordinator for the Securing the Future Initiative (SFI) at The Soufan Center. She supports TSC’s projects by providing research and analysis on issues related to counterterrorism, violent extremism, and global conflict.

Prior to joining The Soufan Center, Caitlin spent several years working in the public relations and communications domains, where she provided crisis relations management, executive leadership, and strategic communication support to clients across a range of sectors. She has additional experience in academic research, where she has focused on global terrorism and counterterrorism; domestic white supremacist extremism; human trafficking and forced migration; national security; and emergent security challenges.

Caitlin is currently a Master of Public Policy candidate at The University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy where she is pursuing certificates in global conflict and empirical data analysis. She previously attended American University’s School of International Service (SIS) and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies with concentrations in global economics and peace and conflict resolution.
