Reshaping the Global Order: Conflict, Crises, and Cooperation

The Soufan Center organized a Global Security Forum (GSF) event on the margins of the 77th UN General Assembly. This lunchtime event focused on Reshaping the Global Order: Conflict, Crises, and Cooperation. Each year, the GSF has brought together governments, experts, and the media for unique interactive discussions on pressing security and policy challenges, from conflict to terrorism, pandemic to great power competition.The event included introductory remarks by Naureen Chowdhury Fink, Executive Director of the The Soufan Center. The remarks were followed by a fireside chat between John Miller, Chief Law Enforcement and Intelligence Analyst, and Rebecca Weiner, Assistant Commissioner for Intelligence Analysis at the NYPD, and a panel discussion with Ilkka Salmi, Counter-Terrorism Coordinator for the EU, and Ian Moss, Deputy Coordinator for Countering Violent Extremism and Terrorist Detentions in the Bureau of Counterterrorism, moderated by Karen Greenberg, Director of the Center for National Security at Fordham University and a Senior Visiting Fellow at The Soufan Center.
