Clarke, Senior Research Fellow, spoke in an International Centre for Counter-Terrorism (ICCT) Live Briefing on “Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State: Competition or Cooperation in Western Sahel?” alongside fellow panelist Julie Coleman, the ICCT’s Senior Research Fellow and lead expert on the Sahel, with chair, Alexander von Rosenbach, ICCT Operations Manager and Senior Fellow. Taking place on March 26, 2020, the virtual event was hosted by the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism in The Hague. Colin discussed terrorist cooperation in West Africa, with a focus on al-Qaeda in the Sahel and al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.
