Educate to Eradicate: The Role of Education in Tackling Violent Extremism

Ali Soufan, Founder of The Soufan Center, participated in a high-level roundtable event ‘Educate to Eradicate: The Role of Education in Tackling Violent Extremism’ in New York, NY. The event was organized by Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) in partnership with the Institute of International Education (IIE). This high-level roundtable provided an interactive forum for dialogue on “the role of universities and higher education in tackling violent extremism.” It focused on the vital role, often absent from counter terrorism discussions, of academic institutions, education entities, teachers and educators, NGOs and students.
