On February 5, 2025, Senior Research Fellow Colin P. Clarke participated in a book talk on transnational organized crime in North Africa hosted by the Matthew B. Ridgway Center for International Security Studies at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. Dr. Clarke presented research from the co-authored book The Mediterranean Connection: Criminal Networks and Illicit Economies in North Africa. The discussion touched upon themes including illicit economies, smuggling, and criminal networks across the Mediterranean region.
